Meet MYA one of our Fierce Leadership Bursary winners. Mya is from Manitou, MB. She started hockey when she was four and is a fierce left winger. Her long term hockey goals are to play the sport as long as she can and to coach young girls.
When asked what it means to be fierce, Mya said this – “Being fierce is often misinterpreted as an aggressive individual. However, someone who is fierce has qualities such as strength, determination, and resilience. Fierceness is an inner force that drives people to leave their comfort zones and confront their fears. Being fierce requires individuals to recognize their weaknesses and embrace their imperfections, while striving for excellence.”
We are so proud to have Mya as a fierce ambassador. You can watch Mya play this 23-24 season with the Assiniboine Community College Women’s Hockey Team.
